Why we're called Foldworth

Manu

Every name is a promise. Ours is about multiplication.

Fold: many times over

In English, fold is the quiet word behind twofold, fourfold and tenfold. It means "many times over". Fold a sheet of paper once and you have two layers. Fold it again and you have four. A few more folds and the thickness grows faster than intuition expects.

That is how we think about products. A good product should not grow in a straight line. It should multiply: one language becomes five, one market becomes ten, one solved problem opens the door to the next.

Worth: value

Worth is the part that keeps us honest. Growth for its own sake is easy to fake. Value is not. Every product we build has to be worth something real to the people who use it: time saved, a better decision, a problem that simply goes away.

Put together, Foldworth means building value, many times over.

Where the name really comes from

Before it was Foldworth, the idea was Fourfold. Four, because Foldworth was founded by Manu, an entrepreneur and a father of two, in a family of four. Fourfold, because the goal was always to build something several times bigger than it logically should be.

The name changed. The meaning stayed. Every product we build is a family project in spirit: built with care, built to last, and built to grow beyond what anyone expected at the start.

How the name shapes the way we work

The name is not just a label. It describes how we work:

  • We build hands-on. We design and write our products ourselves, with modern tools and AI.
  • We run what we build. We operate our ventures every day, so we learn what users actually need.
  • We multiply what works. When something proves its value, we take it into new languages, new markets and new niches.

That is how one tennis directory grew to more than 11,000 academies in 28 countries, and how a single data project turned into millions of company records made useful.

Welcome to the fold

In English, the fold also means a community you belong to. To be "welcomed into the fold" is to be welcomed into the family.

So if you are building something with ambition bigger than logic, and you want a team that builds, runs and grows products the way we do, we would be glad to hear from you.

Welcome to the fold.
